Memories in Neyland

  1. My most memorable moment as a University of Tennessee student was when I attended the first
football game of the season. It was exciting because it was my first UT Vols game as an actual student.
It was a night game at the end of August. We were playing Utah State. I went with a few girls who I
had met on my floor in Humes. We were all rocking our UT orange and adorable overalls. I couldn't tell
you the final score of the game -- but I do know we won. But it wasn't the fact that we won that made
it so memorable. It was tailgating with my brand new friends. It was somehow getting to stand in the
5th row of the student section in Neyland Stadium. It was dancing and yelling, "Third down for what!"
This moment was memorable because it made me feel like Rocky Top was my home. It made me feel
like I was a part of something bigger than myself.
